I’m open to requests to read and review recently-published novels (in English), including novels by indie authors, particularly:
- historical fiction (especially stories about ‘ordinary’ women’s lives, i.e. not royalty)
- novels in the ‘realistic’ speculative fiction genre (i.e. set on Earth, excluding space opera, epic fantasy, high fantasy,…)
- dystopian/apocalyptic novels (also including zombies, alien invasions,…)
- literary fiction.
I dislike books that glorify guns or that have a heavy focus on battles and warfare. Also not a fan of the ‘romance’ genre. I have a strong preference for books set in the UK, Ireland and continental Europe.
All of my reviews are 100% honest, no matter whether I buy the book or receive a free copy.
If I like your novel and give it 3, 4 or 5 stars, I’ll publish my review on this site and post a link on Bluesky. I generally avoid posting highly critical 1- or 2-star reviews. My reviews are biased: I will refuse to review or negatively review books that promote misogyny, racism, homophobia, transphobia, climate change denial and other such hatefulness.
Send your request to the address below. Please include the title, cover (if possible) and a short synopsis. If I accept the request, the book you send me must be in a Kindle-compatible format such as mobi, azw or epub.
